This is a list of worth seeing squares in Rotterdam that can also help you to navigate to interesting places of interest.

Stadhuisplein
The city heart in front of the Coolsingel and the classical town hall.  Together with the Coolsingel the Stadhuisplein is the place to be for Feyenoord fans celebrating football victories.

Stationsplein
With the new central station the Stationsplein has become a tourist attraction with some great views of the Central Station District that include high-rise, a e promenade, a canal and the square the huge building Groothandelsgebouw, a fine example of architecture after the bombardment.

Kruisplein
In front of the Central Station you will find the Kruisplein that is connected to a promenade. This square is surround by big buildings like the concert hall De Doelen Together with the Westersingel is part of the ‘cultural axle’ of Rotterdam. The renewed Kruisplein was opened in 2015.

Eendrachtsplein
Keep moving forward and you will find the modest Eendrachtsplein. The square is close to the lively Oude Binnenweg and the Mauritsweg and Westblaak. At the square you will find the illustrious Santa Claus sculpture.

Beursplein
The Beursplein forms the heart of the Rotterdam shopping centre area. The square is between the Coolsingel and the Hoofdstraat and directly connected to the well-known shopping ‘lane’ Koopgoot.

Churchillplein
The Churchillplein lies at the southern part of  the Coolsingel where de Blaak, Westblaak and Schiedamsedijk come togeter. In the neighbourhood of square you will find the Rotterdam Maritime Museum.

Raamplein
At the Timmerhuis you will find this small Raamplein. A beloved square for people that live and work in Timmerhuis, a special creation of the architectural firm of Rem Koolhaas. In 2015 the Louis Davids monument returned to the neighbourhood where the artist was born.

Plein 1940
Plein 1940 is situated at Plein 1940. On the square we will find the famous statue ‘De Verwoeste Stad’ in connection with the bombardment made by the French artist Ossip Zadkine.

Binnenrotte
De Binnenrotte is a large street where once the river Rotte went. At the Binnenrotte you will find many attractions like the Markthal, the Laurenskerk  and de Cube House. On the square is held the Saturday market, the biggest of Rotterdam.

Grotekerkplein
Besides the Binnenrotte lies the lively Grotekerkplein at the front of the Laurenskerk. Don’t miss the Erasmus statue, the oldest of the Netherlands.

Hofplein
The Hofplein is situated on the northern edge of the Coolsingel. This busy roundabout  is often the scenery of football parties that traditionally end up with swimming in the Hofplein pond.

Schouwburgplein
On the Schouwburgplein you find cultural places like the Rotterdamse Schouwburg (theater) and De Doelen (concert hall). In 1996 the biggest square of Rotterdam was changed by acclaimed architect Adriaan Geuzing who created a raising. The Schouwburgplein is the central location of the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

Willemsplein
The Willemsplein borders on the Willemskade and the Zalmhaven at the feed of the Erasmusbrug. At the square are Spido starting point.

Wilhelminaplein
Besides the Erasmus bridge in Rotterdam South there is the Wilhelminaplein. The theater Nieuwe Luxor is based here.

Afrikaanderplein
Further southwards there lies the Afrikaanderplein. Once this was the place where Wilhelmina played of which originate Feyenoord in 1912. On Wednesday and Saturday the lively Afrikaandermarkt is held.

Koningin Emmaplein
A chic tiny square situated woonplein at the Westzeedijk in front of Museumpark. The square, a national monument, accommodates stately mansions in neorenaissance style.

Westplein
In southwestern direction we will find the Westplein dat is in connection with the stately Parklaan. At the Westplein there a some national monument monuments.

Oostplein
Hardly to mention the mansion. Check out the remains of the Royal Marines barracks. The surrounding of Oostplein is a well-known students neighbourhood with small pubs and restaurants.

Noordplein
Once the square where the market of Rotterdam was held. Today the Oogstmarkt on Saturday is recomendable. Also check out the streets Zwaanshals and the Zaagmolenkade, still a good secret.

Gelderse Plein
An elegant modest square at the pittoresk inner harbour Oude Haven. The Gelderse Plein was delivered in 2015.
