What are de well-known and lesser-known shopping areas?

Centre
Most shopping option you will find in the centre of Rotterdam. The most well-known shopping ares in the centre of Rotterdam  form the Coolsingel and the Beursplein with his ‘Koopgoot’ (actually a nickname) and the Lijnbaan that was once a revolutionary street. Beside these partes there a many interesting nice ‘side streets’ like  the alternative Oude Binnenweg and the Pannekoekstraat or the more exclusively Meent or Van Oldebarneveldt. For exclusivity also check the High End Fashion District Rotterdam in the Kruiskade not that far from the Central Station.

Oude Westen
In this western area you will find two shopping streets for adventurous shoppers: the Nieuwe Binnenweg and the West-Kruiskade.

Rotterdam Noord
Check also Rotterdam North if you are looking for more original shops. Nice shops you will find in  the Zaagmolenkade and the Zwaanshals.

Kralingen
There is a different vibe in Kralingen, lets call it a more village vibe. In Kralingen, in the eastern part of Rotterdam, you can expect specialist shops and Burgundian dining. A very popular spot for a more informal bite is the Tuin in the park Kralingse Bos.

Hillegersberg
Hillegersberg, further away in northen Rotterdam, feels like a village and has a chic vibe. You can expect here more exclusively small dress shops. Also check out the Bergse Plas.

Prins Alexander
The largest shopping center of the Netherlands consists of three parts: Alexandrium Shopping Center, Alexandrium Megastores and the Alexandrium Woonmall. Beside the shopping center there is a metro and train station that is situated in the eastern part of Rotterdam.
