The ss Rotterdam is the most famous post-war Dutch passenger ship of the Holland America Line (HAL). Nowadays you experience the ultimate cruise feeling in the hotel, the restaurant and especially on the large terrace on the deck of the ship. The ss Rotterdam is situated in the neighbourhood Katendrecht.
History ss Rotterdam
The building of the ship starts in 1956 at the Rotterdam company RDM, an important shipyard. With more than 228 metres it’s the largest passenger ship ever built in the Netherlands. After the ship was openend by queen Juliana the first navigation takes place in 1959 to New York. After 1971 the Holland America Line (HAL) used it only as a cruise ship. In 2008 the ship was moved to Katendrecht and since 2010 the ss Rotterdam is open for the public.

Terrace on the ss Rotterdam
The terrace has a capacity of 250 seats where you can enjoy a bite and drink. In the middle there is a pool. The great view over the skyline of Rotterdam makes it one of the best terraces in Rotterdam.

Ocean Bar and Captains Lounge: Sunday till Thursday from 10:00 hour till 01:00 hour and Friday till Saturday from 10:00 hour till 02:00 hour
